Why WEL Companies is the Best Route for Veterans
When our military men and women end their active-duty status and return to civilian life, they face many challenges blending back into society. Are you a veteran wondering what your next steps are? Use the skills that youโve learned while serving our country and grow into a rewarding career on the road. Learn how WEL Companies helps ease our veterans back into everyday society.ย ย
The Family Atmosphereย ย
When you join WEL Companies youโre not just an employee, you become part of the WEL Family. You will create a mutually respectful, working relationship with your driver manager. We all depend on each other to become successful. Take advantage of our home time, high pay, low turnover, and bringing your favorite rover on the road.ย WEL also gives those who have served their due recognition. Veterans have given a huge part of their lives to this country, and that should be respected and praised!ย ย
Communityย ย
WEL Companies supports Wreaths Across Americaโs mission to remember, honor, and teach. Every December, WEL drivers deliver wreaths to national ceremonies across all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad. This year WEL Companies was honored to have delivered wreaths to the Tallahassee National Cemtery, Oakland, Kent Forest Lawn, Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Little Rock, and Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In 2022 WEL Companies volunteered to haul The Wall That Heals memorial exhibit through Middletown, New York. This traveling memorial has been on the road for more than 13,000 miles, providing veterans the strength to overcome the healing process.ย ย

Dave McGowan has been a member of the WEL Family since May 1989. He is a husband and father of two children. Dave is also a U.S. Army veteran and served in Vietnam in 1971-1972, and he attended driving school soon after he was released from the military in 1974.
During his career with WEL, Phil has worked as a driver, dispatcher, terminal manager and customer service manager. He says he always was a driver first, though non-driving jobs taught him financial management that helps him as an owner-operator.
